The Royal Shukla Phanta
Wildlife Reserve was established in 1976, and is
located in the southern part of far-western
Nepal. The reserve is a prime habitat for swamp
deer. Other wild animals include wild elephant,
tiger, hispid hare and blue bull. Birds of 200
different varieties, including the rare Bengal
florican, are found here. Python, cobra, monitor
lizards and crocodiles are also found here.
